Gods Last Call – Acts Chapter 9 – Just Added

The Damascus Road conversion of Saul of Tarsus represented a great beginning for both the Apostle Paul, as well as for the spread of the Gospel to the western world. Gods call to Saul not only signalled the beginning of great things to come but it also sealed the end of God calling so clearly from heaven and constantly troubling Sauls conscience. Illumination for Saul in his state of spiritual darkness would come at a painful cost. God would bring him from darkness to light by illuminating him with a darkness yet darker still, a blindness so impenetrably black that God alone could reach through the bleakness of his hungry despair. This was the final opportunity to respond to the God who called from heaven.

When I Came to You

As a job application it was destined to leave the apostle Paul well off of the interview short-list, yet chapter 2 opens with a self appraisal which leaves the reader in no doubt as to Pauls short comings. He wasn’t big on wisdom, speaking wasn’t his strong point, he lacked self confidence and felt his weakness. Despite all of this the mission at Corinth had been a rip roaring success! It always had been the case that when God chose a man suitable for His service He had rejected anyone too proud to acquiesce to His omnipotence. God always sought a servant willing to become a channel clean enough, through which blessing might flow to others; and that blessing was GREAT!

A Great Invitation to A Great Salvation

In tonights message Mr David Dunn from Castle Douglas hears again the great invitation of God to all men and women to come and enjoy what He has provided in Jesus Christ. David gives us 4 perspectives on the greatness of this salvation of God:

1 – This Salvation saves you from Hell
2 – This Salvation saves you for eternal Glory
3 – This Salvation comes at Great cost
4 – This Salvation is Great because of the Saviour who provides it

The Last Lecture – Just added

At a time in Western Christianity when it would appear that many are failing to appreciate the God given responsibility to both receive the truth from a previous generation and the responibility to preserve it and then pass it on to the next generation, Robert Revie brings a timely encouragement to remain faithful and consistent in the basics of the Christian faith and to see our God given place as part of a corporate body of Christ with both the privileges and the responsibilities it brings. It is time to ‘man up’ and to step up to the mark and take our place among Gods people. Capitalism, humanism and materialism have taught a generation to become self centred consumers, picking buffet style from the menu of choice. Responsibility is a conveniently forgotten concept. We go where it suits us and we drop what doesn’t. Such attitudes, as 2 Timothy chapter 2 reveals did not build Christs Church and such attitudes are not consistent in sustaining it. God will hold us accountable for faithfulness and for failure. Despite Paul having much to discourage him, in the inconsistencies of others, noted and named in the Word of God, yet he sees encouragement from the faithfulness of Timothy, to whom he passes on the baton of the faith, in this most poignant of Pauls ‘last lecture.’

Tell me There’s a Heaven – Just added

Just added, a recording of this evenings Gospel message preached by Mr Robert Revie (Tarbolton):

Tell me theres a Heaven – Robert Revie – 16032014.mp3

Robert examines some of the great questions posed in the book of Job:

“man dies and wasteth away yea man giveth up the ghost and where is he?” (Job 14:10)
“if a man die shall he live again?” (Job 14:14)

and answers them in the light of Jobs trust in a living Redeemer and His expectation of one day seeing God “in the flesh.”
