Just added, a new message in our series on: ‘Encounters with God.’ Stewart Gillespie preaches from Adam and Eves encounter with God in Genesis chapter 3. After conscience condemns and Adam hides from his guilt, God comes calling. God’s message is simple and surprising, and exposes many of the pit falls in addressing our sins, failures and fears:
The question; ‘does God exist?’ becomes an absurd historical curiosity once He has been encountered, in the same category as the 20th Century question, ‘will man ever get to the moon,’? No matter how strong or weak the arguments on either side are, debate cannot alter reality. This message begins a new series of messages for 2017 on the theme, ‘Encounters with God.’ We consider one of the first hurdles to such an encounter; our own preconceptions of what such an encounter is like. Should we anticipate a flash of light from the heavens, or a voice from the sky? Man alienated and isolated from his creator still contains the echo of a past relationship with Him. Conscience persists as Gods abiding and uninvited testimony in our lives.
